Sowing and caring for foxtail
Sow indoors between February and April. Cover the seeds only lightly with soil, keeping the soil warm and moist. Transplant outdoors once there is no longer any risk of frost. In late spring, they can also be sown directly into the garden bed. Amaranthus is easy to grow and a good choice for novice gardeners.
Harvest foxtail and cut for a vase
Cut when about three-quarters of the flowers on the stem are open. Remove most of the foliage so the green flower heads are more visible. It will keep for 7 to 10 days. For a dried flower arrangement, it can also be cut when in full bloom.
