Sowing and caring for sunflowers
Sunflowers grow very quickly and thrive best when sown directly after the last frost. Alternatively, sow them indoors in trays and plant them out after 2 to 3 weeks.
Harvest sunflowers & cut them for the vase
Cut the flowers for a vase as soon as the first petals of a bloom begin to lift from the center, removing about three-quarters of the leaves from the stem. The flowers will last 7 to 10 days in a vase.
