Sowing and caring for flowering tobacco

Sowing indoors takes place between February and April. Cover the seeds only lightly with soil. As soon as autumn arrives, they can be sown outdoors in small pots in a sheltered spot protected from rain, and the young plants later transplanted into the garden bed. Alternatively, from the end of February/March (in colder regions, it's better to start indoors in a cool but bright location and then plant directly outdoors from the end of March/April). Germination can be accelerated by placing the seeds in the refrigerator for a week before sowing, as Cool Flowers require this period of cold. Water well and provide support if necessary. Regular pruning will prolong the flowering period.

Harvest flowering tobacco and cut it for a vase.

Cut when one-third of the flowers on a stem are open. The flowers wilt quickly, so it's best to harvest in the morning. Remove the faded flowers from the lower half of the stems every few days.
