'Duchesse de Nemours' is an opulent, fully double peony that combines elegance with a wonderful fragrance. This magnificent peony is an absolute highlight both in the garden and in a vase! In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful white varieties available.
Peonies are very sensitive at the roots. They must be planted with extreme care and ideally never transplanted again; then these easy-care plants will delight us for decades with an ever-increasing display of blooms. Slugs and snails cannot harm them.

Description
Planting peonies
The ideal time to plant peonies is either in early spring or autumn, roughly between September and the end of November. The peonies are delivered as young plants in 2-liter pots. They require a sunny location in the garden. Important: Peonies must not be planted too deep or too shallow, as they are very sensitive to this.
Caring for peonies
Peonies are very easy to care for and require little maintenance after planting. Regular watering is necessary during dry periods, but waterlogging should be avoided at all costs. Fertilizing once a year with horn meal or compost is recommended. In late autumn, after the peony leaves have withered, the above-ground shoots should be cut back to about 10–15 cm.
Harvesting peonies
The ideal time to harvest is when the buds slowly begin to open. The petals should still be tightly closed. Using sharp garden shears or a knife, cut the stems at an angle and immediately place them in lukewarm water.
