Sowing and caring for summer phlox
Sowing takes place indoors between February and April. Place the seeds about 1,5 mm deep in well-draining soil.Plant out only when there is no longer any risk of frost. It can also be sown directly into the garden bed in late spring. Summer phlox is extremely robust and long-blooming. Regular cutting prolongs the flowering period. Support may be necessary.
Harvesting and cutting summer phlox for a vase
Cut for a vase when one-third to one-half of the flowers are open. The petals are somewhat delicate, so be careful. They will last about 7 days in a vase.
