Sowing and caring for sweet peas
Sow indoors between February and April. Cover the seeds only lightly with soil. Plant outdoors only when there is no longer any risk of frost. Can also be sown directly into the garden bed in late spring. Drought-tolerant. Requires a climbing support.
Harvest sweet peas and cut them for a vase
For longest vase life, cut sweet peas when at least two unopened blossoms are present at the tips. Vase life is shorter if more open blossoms are cut. Sweet peas are short-lived cut flowers that last a maximum of 4-6 days in a vase.
