Foeniculum vulgare 'Atropurpureum' (red-leaved fennel)

A wonderful soft-focus effect in the flower bed, blending beautifully in color and pairing wonderfully with both elegant and wild perennials. Later in the season, it develops a very delicate, transparent appearance. In early summer, it looks lovely with irises and peonies, and in late summer, it's a fantastic complement to autumnal anemones. An absolute must-have plant. Also well-suited for cutting.
