Planting instructions
Sowing and caring for switchgrass
Press the seeds lightly into the soil and do not cover them with soil (they are light-dependent germinators). Sow indoors between February and April. Plant out only when there is no longer any risk of frost. Can also be sown directly into the garden bed in late spring. Very drought-tolerant.
Harvest switchgrass and cut it for a vase.
It can be cut for a vase at almost any stage. The more mature the stem, the larger the flower fountains will be. It will last 10 to 14 days in a vase.
