Planting instructions

Sowing and caring for scabious

Indoors, sow between February and April. Cover the seeds only lightly with soil. Outdoors, sow in small pots in a sheltered spot protected from rain and later transplant the seedlings into the garden bed. Or sow directly into the garden bed. Ideal for sowing in autumn and early spring. Germination can be accelerated by placing the seeds in the refrigerator for a week before sowing, as Cool Flowers require a period of cold. Support may be necessary. Regularly remove faded blooms. Perfect for beginners!

Harvest scabiosa and cut for a vase

For a long vase life, the flowers should be cut when they are still buds or only partially open. They will last for 8 days in a vase.
