Sowing and caring for summer asters
Sow indoors between February and April. Cover the seeds only lightly with soil. Plant out only when there is no longer any risk of frost. In late spring, they can also be sown directly into the garden bed. A planting pot that is planted directly in the ground is preferable. Do not overwater. Regular pruning will prolong the flowering period.
Harvesting and cutting summer asters for a vase
Cut the blossoms regularly. Only harvest when at least one blossom is open. The best time to cut them is in the morning. They will last for about 10 days in a vase.
