Sowing and caring for coneflowers
Sow indoors between February and April. Press the seeds only lightly into the soil and do not cover them with soil (they are light-dependent germinators). Outdoors, sow in small pots in a sheltered spot protected from rain and later transplant the seedlings into the garden bed. Ideal for sowing in autumn and early spring. Germination can be accelerated by placing the seeds in the refrigerator for a week before sowing, as Cool Flowers require a period of cold. Support may be necessary. Regularly remove faded flowers.
Harvesting and cutting coneflowers for a vase
Cut for a vase when the flowers open. They will last for 8 days in a vase.
