Centranthus ruber 'Albus' (spur flower)

My absolute favorite among hardy perennials. It boasts an extremely long and abundant flowering period if the faded blooms are regularly deadheaded. The delicate, white-green flowers complement any perennial planting. A fantastic filler, as the valerian grows to an impressive size in its first year. Beautiful with grasses, roses, and prairie perennials. It simply always works.

Location: Sun, partial shade, dry soil
Please note: Tolerates drought, rather short-lived, but maintains itself well through self-seeding; regularly deadhead spent blooms for a long flowering period.
