Sowing and caring for wild carrot
Sowing indoors takes place between February and April. Press the seeds only lightly into the soil (they are light-dependent germinators). As soon as autumn arrives, they can be sown outdoors in small pots in a sheltered spot protected from rain, and the young plants later transplanted into the garden bed. Alternatively, sowing can begin in late February/March (in colder regions, it's best to start indoors in a cool but bright location and then sow directly outdoors from late March/April). Germination can be accelerated by placing the seeds in the refrigerator for a week before sowing, as Cool Flowers require this period of cold. Water well and provide support if necessary. Regular deadheading will prolong the flowering period. Remove faded blooms regularly and provide support if needed.
Harvest wild carrots and cut them for a vase.
Wild carrot is a wonderful companion flower that complements almost any bouquet. Cut it for a vase shortly after the flower heads have opened. The best time to cut it is in the morning. It will last for about 5 to 10 days in a vase.
