Small Gardeners

A hand-picked selection of the best garden tools and accessories for small hands

When I was pregnant with my first child, I had wonderful images of gardening together in my mind. I was sure it would become our favorite activity. How wrong I was! Apart from the wheelbarrow and the garden hose, my daughter wasn't initially interested in much in the garden. And the latter rarely watered flowers, but rather me and her squealing friends. I didn't want to give up, though, and bought her a solid basic set of high-quality gardening tools, made for small hands.

And how happy I was when she finally started all on her own: cutting flowers for small bouquets, planting strawberries, watering them, and snacking on them. She squished potting soil and sowed the first seeds. The flower teepee was then our first gardening project together. Children need their time. As parents, you can't rush or demand anything. If they have the right materials, they'll be eager to get involved. And that's why I wanted to put together my small, hand-picked selection of the best and most beautiful gardening tools for children here for you.
