Sowing and caring for strawflowers
Sowing indoors takes place between February and April. Press the seeds only lightly into the soil (they are light-dependent germinators). Plant outdoors only when there is no longer any risk of frost. In late spring, they can also be sown directly into the garden bed. Regular pruning will prolong the flowering period.
Harvest strawflowers and cut them for a vase
Cut for vases when they are half-opened (before pollination). They will last for about 7 days in a vase. Strawflowers are perfect for drying: remove the foliage and hang upside down in a warm, dark place until firm.
