JORA DAHL is a manufacturer that creates unique products for flower-filled gardens. In our online shop, we sell seeds for cut flowers, perennials, dahlia and tulip collections, as well as high-quality tools that make gardening a pleasure.

When I first moved into a house with a garden 12 years ago, I eagerly immersed myself in the world of plants. I knew nothing about gardening, but was incredibly inspired by the beautiful, wild gardens of contemporary landscape designers. However, when I stood in the garden center, I was greatly disappointed. Stuffy, compact plants, garish colors, and no one to help me plan a flower bed.

This event sparked my ambition: where could I find those beautiful flowers in soft pastel shades that I always saw at the florist? Could I grow them in my own garden? And how could I plan a perennial border as beautiful as the ones I always saw in my English gardening magazine? And so robust that it would require little work later on? I wanted a picture-perfect garden: wild, elegant, delicate, and enchanting. Many years (and many failed attempts) later, I achieved my goal and was overjoyed to have learned and discovered so much.

The desire to share my knowledge was strong, as was the idea of developing products I would have wished for 12 years earlier: special varieties in packaging that perfectly complements the beauty of the plant itself. I started searching for the most beautiful tulip bulbs from small growers, packaged them, and asked a handful of shops if they would stock them. When the bulbs sold out within a few days, I knew: it worked.

Today I'm proud of our selection: the most beautiful perennials, seeds for cut flowers, bulbs, dahlias, and, as a complement, a selection of garden products that make my heart sing. I want to find something special for you, have each seed variety hand-illustrated, and package everything with love. "To have a garden is to believe in the future." If we can inspire you with our products and our knowledge, then we've achieved a great deal.

Our promise

Sustainability

We completely avoid plastic in our packaging and shipping, and print on environmentally friendly paper with mineral oil-free inks. We source our plants from reputable growers who also prioritize sustainability. Our bulb supplier does not use pesticides or fungicides. Unfortunately, many of the special varieties we sell are not currently available in certified organic quality. We hope this will change in the future. Of course, we provide plenty of tips for organic gardening and strongly advise against using harmful fertilizers and pesticides. Ultimately, whether a flower is truly "organic" depends largely on how it is cultivated.

Living space garden

A garden is nothing without bees, bumblebees, butterflies, ladybugs, and birds – it's nothing without wildlife! We want to inspire you to wrest more and more flowerbed space from that boring lawn. Many of our perennials attract numerous creatures year-round, and you rarely see our annuals without buzzing visitors – for months on end! Many of them are incredibly beneficial in the garden, making pesticides of any kind unnecessary. We want to encourage you to plant more in general and create vibrant, blooming spaces in your garden instead of a lifeless sea of boxwood balls.

Social Responsibility

We have all our products manufactured entirely in Germany. We also don't source packaging materials from abroad to keep transport distances as short as possible. In manufacturing, we cooperate with workshops whose working conditions we have vetted beforehand. We also produce a small portion in our own warehouse. And sometimes I stand at the packing table and enjoy having things "in my own hands." We are a small, independent company without pressure from investors or loans. We only do what we believe in.

Quality Promise

We grow everything we sell ourselves. We always test whether beginners can manage it. For seeds, we ensure a high germination rate of at least 85% and a long shelf life. We only buy bulbs that are fully mature and of a certain size (which is why they aren't available in late summer). For our perennials, we cooperate with one of Germany's most established perennial nurseries. And all our other garden products mostly come from small manufacturers who share our high quality standards.
