10 facts about our perennial sale

Everything you need to know about these great plants

We always get a lot of questions about our perennials, which is why I have summarised the 10 most important facts about our perennial sale for you here:

1. Our perennials are delivered to you in small pots directly from our partner nursery. If you order seeds or similar, you will receive two parcels. Unfortunately, shipping is only possible within Germany.

2. Perennials are hardy, perennial plants that are best planted in spring or autumn.

3. If you don’t know how to plan a perennial bed, read the tips in our journal or buy our digital perennial kit for download. Any beginner can use it to plan perennial beds like a garden designer!

4. Perennials are produced in the nursery all year round – if a variety is sold out, sign up for the waiting list. It usually only takes 1-2 weeks until the variety is back in stock.

5. The same applies to our perennial collections: We also regularly reintroduce these popular packages of perennials that go well together.

6. The most important thing is: never plant perennials alone. Almost all varieties are planted in groups of 3-5. It looks particularly beautiful if you repeat these groups in the bed.

7. Perennials are extremely easy to care for if they are planted in the right place. They bloom again every year. In spring, they appreciate a little compost or horn meal as fertiliser.

8. The perennial retracts into its roots in winter and you should cut off the dead parts of the plant once a year. For most perennials, this is done in early spring.

9. When the perennials arrive, they look very unspectacular. Usually a few leaves without flowers. Don’t let this confuse you, the plant usually flowers in the first year and after 1-3 years it grows to its full size (so pay attention to the planting distances in the bed!).

10. If leaves are bent or wilted after delivery, this is not a problem. Just cut them off, they will grow back quickly. The quality is measured by the well-rooted root ball, which is the strength of the plant.
