The blue wild indigo is a famous dye plant with attractive foliage and ornamental, lupine-like butterfly flowers in violet-blue. The plant with its bushy growth takes a few years to fully develop. But it is worth being patient: The perennial is extremely long-lived and its foliage is beautiful until autumn. Best planted in sandy soil and full sun! But it is definitely one of the undemanding perennials. Also perfect as a cut flower.
Flowering time: June-July
Height/spacing: 120 cm/50 cm
Habitat: Sun, normal, dry or fresh soil
Notes: Bee pasture, very long-lived. Plant singly or in small groups if possible.
Perennials are only shipped to Germany due to long delivery times!
