Garden manifesto

The more beautiful the garden, the more time we spend in it. And the more we are outside, the happier we become. Here are our principles for design.

1. Plants are the stars

…it is not the carport or the patio nor the expensive garden furniture. It is the beauty of the plants and flowers that creates the atmosphere and uniqueness of a garden. That’s why we live out the motto: more is more!

2. The garden as a link between living space and landscape

Harmony is created by flowing transitions. Which colours, materials, styles can be transferred from the living space to the garden? How can the surrounding landscape be integrated into the garden or reinterpreted?

3. Noble materials for eternity

A garden can last for generations and, in the best case scenario, becomes more and more beautiful. When choosing the right materials, you should therefore think about your grandchildren.

4. Less is more: few varieties, few colours

In the flower bed the rule is: a few plant species in exuberant abundance instead of a patchwork carpet of twenty colours.

5. Beauty in all four seasons

Think of the garden as a winter wonderland. Hoarfrost on grasses and flowering branches are just as delightful in the dark season as the first tulip buds or the last autumn anemones.

6.Lazy gardeners are better gardeners

Plant the garden in harmony with the laws of nature. The rule is: right plant, right place. Only then will the garden become a place of enjoyment and not a place of work.

7.Count details

The doormat? The door handle? The doorbell system? Are just as important for a coherent overall impression as perennials, house tree and designer sofa.

8. The journey is the reward

A garden grows, changes, awakens, topples, overgrows, is sometimes a paradise and two weeks later a tragedy. In any case, it is never finished. Accepting this helps. In the garden and in life.

9. Good garden tools

A few good garden tools, properly stored and cared for, greatly increase the anticipation of working in the garden.

10. Courage to remove everything ugly

Plants have their time. Materials have their time. Furniture has its time. And sometimes that time is up. Then you have to be brave and say goodbye.
