Baptisia ‘Dark Chocolate’ impresses with an unusual brown flower colour with a slight aubergine undertone. The butterfly flowers are arranged in long loose racemes, reminiscent of lupins in shape. After flowering, green bean-shaped seed pods form. The perennial is particularly long-lived and tolerates drought excellently. With the exception of pruning the stems in late autumn, hardly any care is needed.
Flowering time: May-June
Height/Planting distance: 90 cm/50 cm
Location: Sun, well-drained soil
Notes: Bee meadow, very long-lived. Prune back the stems in autumn to late autumn.
Plant singly or in small groups if possible.
Perennials are only shipped to Germany due to long delivery times!
