Hakonechloa macra (Japanese Forest Grass)

Graceful, architectural-looking grasses with softly overhanging leaves that spread slowly by short runners. The Japanese forest grasses prefer sunny locations with fresh, humus-rich soils, but tolerate dry periods very well when grown in. Great autumn colouring. Structural plant in winter.

Habitat: sun – shade, fresh soil
Notes: tolerates dry periods when grown in, prune only in spring

Plant in small groups if possible.
